We suggest that you do not make your travel arrangements until you have received our confirmation of your retreat dates.
Ordinarily, Seven Fountains does not have scheduled, organized retreats. Most of our retreats are individually directed. We therefore suggest that you contact us with a few possible dates that you can come for a retreat, and then we check on room availability. It is normal in our type of retreats to have a Jesuit accompany you during your retreat. We do not encourage (or accept) people who come to be completely on their own without any personal contact or accompaniment. At the least, everyone is expected to have an opening conversation with one of the Jesuits on the staff and then to decide how to proceed from then on. We make exceptions in the case of priests, sisters, pastors, and church ministers who request to be silently on their own.
We advise people to arrive one day before their retreat actually begins (in order to settle in); and we ask people to leave the day after their retreat is finished (check-out time is 12.00). Since we try to avoid the atmosphere of a guest house, we do not accept people earlier than this, nor allow them to remain onwards once the retreat is finished. (Our secretary is glad to suggest the names of some clean, safe, and near-by guest houses if you wish more information.)
